Monday was just as sweet a day as Sunday.
I didn’t draw as much as I’d hoped to –in fact, all I did was add some last details to the page I was working on the other day. But at least now that’s finished and I can move on to a new one.
I’m happy with how it came out, overall. My old style is getting more solid, and the comic is beginning to look just like I want it to. I’m glad I’m not losing hope even if lately I only have time to draw one page per week.
While I drew, I watched some old Ren & Stimpy episodes on DVD. When I was a kid, I really loved Ren & Stimpy. Ren’s voice was great in Spanish. Stimpy, however, had this “bumbling oaf” voice that wasn’t as high-pitched and cute as the one he has in English. It took me a while to get used to his original voice, the one by Billy West. Now Ren, voiced by John Kricfalusi, is just as good as he gets. Creepy and insane, to be sure, but that’s what makes him much fun.
I was surprised by how some of the more “disgusting” jokes bothered me in a way they hadn’t years ago when I was a kid. Hmm… maybe I am getting old? Well, I love Ren & Stimpy anyway (the old version, not that “Adult Party Cartoon” crap. Sorry, Mr. K.)
That aside, I’ve gone and opened a Flickr account. Some of you may have noticed the Flickr links on the side bar to the right. There’s a link there to a set I created for the stuff I sell on Etsy. Some of it has never been seen on my store, having been custom orders for offline clients, but now you can see them all here. I want to add more photos to my Flickr, but I’m trying to decide which ones since it’s only a free account.
Well, I better go for now. Gotta get ready for work. Hopefully I will be back soon with more than just nonsensical ramblings!
